The Charity of the Yorkshire Heart Centre
John is a dedicated supporter of “ Take Heart “ and we have included several articles over the years which have told his story since having heart valve replacements in 1999 at the General Infirmary in Leeds. Throughout the last 20 years, he has enjoyed excellent health and has maintained a high level of physical fitness. Two years ago, in May 2017, he completed the 214 Wainwright mountains in the Lake District for the third time. Encouraged by many people, he turned this achievement into a fundraising venture and raised over £5000. The total sum was divided equally between three charities, one being “Take Heart“. It was in early September that John heard about the closure of the British Cardiac Patients Association and, having been a loyal member for many years, was sad to hear the news. On learning of the decision to distribute surplus assets to recommended charities, John put forward “ Take Heart “ as being most worthy of consideration. As a consequence, the Association has given £500 to “ Take Heart “ and John has handed over the cheque on behalf of the BCPA. Thanks to the BCPA for their generous donation and thank you once again John. Everything you have done for Take Heart over the years is really appreciated. Bill Stevenson IT Consultant to Take Heart
