Vicky wrote to us and explained that she and her dad are going to cycle coast to coast in August 2012 and obtain sponsorship for Take Heart. The reason for this is that her Grandfather sadly passed away when he suffered a heart attack following a bypass operation at LGI. He came home after the operation but following his heart attack, spent the last two months of his life between LGI intensive care and Huddersfield and Halifax intensive care. Vicky said that these departments were amazing and she the family have the greatest respect for them - as she says, they took fabulous care of him. She says that “he fought all the way through his time in hospital and always had a smile on his face.” Because of this and having seen our posters in the Yorkshire Heart Centre, they have decided to do this bike ride for Take Heart.
